About

I’m Tony Kim, a product engineer studying CS and Math at Northeastern University. I spot problems bigger companies haven’t gotten to yet, build the product end-to-end, ship it, and put it in front of real users. Four products in the past year, 2k+ combined users.

GameTape started because school basketball programs have zero infrastructure — no stats, no film, no streaming. I built the full production system, deployed it at live championship games, and now it’s serving 2k monthly visitors. I brought on two contributors and rewrote the architecture into a multi-tenant SaaS when I realized it could serve any league, any sport. Rate My Campus Food exists because dining halls have no feedback loop — I built a social platform with personalized feeds and AI nutrition tracking, now live with 100+ users. Bloom, a privacy-first health PWA, has 30+ beta testers validating the prediction engine.

I go deep when the product needs it. Real-time WebSocket systems, computer vision pipelines, prediction algorithms, field-level encryption, content generation engines. But the tech is always in service of the user problem, not the other way around. I don’t build infrastructure for its own sake.

I also own the work outside the code: LLC formation, consent forms and IP agreements, Stripe payments, content moderation, legal compliance.

I founded an AI club in high school with 50+ members, then led AI Studios at Northeastern, a 75+ member club exploring applied AI. I know what these tools can do, where they fall short, and how to build products around them.

I’m looking for SWE or product engineering internships at product-led startups for summer 2026. Also open to talking to founders building something ambitious. Reach me at tony@tonykim.dev.
